How to download app and login?

  1. Go to our website amberobd.com.au
  2. At the bottom of the page click on apple download or google play
  3. Open the AmberOBD app
  4. Input your username and password

How to change the password?

  1. Click on Account Details (1)
  2. Click on account name at the top of the screen
  3. Select Change password
  4. Input old and new password and confirm

  3. Select Bind E-mail
  4. Change or add email and confirm

How to add another Account?

  1. Click on Vehicle Details (2)
  2. Click the (+) in the top right hand corner
  3. Add the License plate number or name of the vehicle
  4. Add sim card number
  5. Add device number
  6. Add an image by clicking on the circle with the (+) inside.

How to view alert list?

  1. Click on Alert List (3)
  2. Your screen will show a list of Alerts including what they are and what time they happened

How to turn on/off Wifi Hotspot settings?

  1. Turn on vehicle
  2. Click on Device Details (4)
  3. Click Wifi Settings
  4. Click WiFi switch to "on"
  5. You can also change wifi name and password
  6. Factory setting of Wifi name is 4GOBD_Device and password is 1234567890.

  3. Click the round circle at the top to choose your image
  4. Select your image from your phone or take a photo
  5. Select confirm

How to adjust the level of vibration for Vibration Alarm?

  1. Turn on vehicle
  2. Click on Device Details (4)
  3. Select Vibration Alarm Level
  4. Select 1 - 30 (1 being the least sensitive)
  5. Then confirm

How to adjust the sensitivity level of acceleration/brake Alarms?

  1. Turn on vehicle
  2. Click on Device Details (4)
  3. Select Sudden acceleration/deceleration level
  4. Select high, medium or low sensitivity
  5. Then confirm

How to set Perimeter Alerts (Geofencing)?

  1. Click on Device Details (4)
  2. Select Geofencing
  3. Click the (+) in the top right hand corner of the screen
  4. Navigate on the map the location that you want.
  5. Choose the range from 100m to 5km
  6. Then click (tick) in the top right hand corner
  7. Input a name for the location and choose if you want in and out or just one of those options and confirm

How to delete a Perimeter Alert?

  1. Click on Device Details (4)
  2. Select Geofencing
  3. Swipe to the left the Geofencing you want to delete and click delete

How to know where my vehicle is currently located?

  1. On the Main Interface you will see the current location on the map. It will be the last position recorded by the AmberOBD (6)

How to view car dashboard?

  1. Turn on vehicle
  2. Click on Dashboard (7)
  3. Your screen will show live dashboard readings of your vehicle that will update every few seconds.
  4. You can also scroll down to see more data.

How to use vehicle health check?

  1. Ensure that your vehicle is parked with engine on
  2. Click on Detect (8)
  3. Agree that the vehicle is in an idling state
  4. If all systems are “Normal”, then your vehicle is healthy
  5. If there is a reading of “Abnormal” then click the points text with round circle
  6. The vehicle will scan and give a points gage as to how critical the problem is. You can then inform a mechanic

How to view current day, week and monthly reports?

  1. Click on Data Report (9)
  2. This will show an empty graph for that day. It will also show the current mileage, fuel consumption, average speed, driving behaviours and any alarms for the day. You can click on each one to see more detailed information.
  3. At the top you will see “Day”, “Week” and “Month”. If you select week it will show the summary of that week, starting on the Monday and ending on a Sunday. The dates of that week will also be shown at the top. If you select Month you will see the result of that month. You will notice that when selected week and month the graph will also show results.
  4. You can then select Mileage, Fuel Consumption, Average Speeds, Driving Behaviours and Alarms in more detail.

How to view previous day, week or monthly report?

  1. Click on Data Report (9)
  2. In the top right hand corner of the screen click the date icon
  3. Your screen will show the current date in a red circle
  4. You can select a date in that month or you can scroll to the left to a previous month. At the top you will see the month date change
  5. Select the date that you want
  6. Your screen will show trips from the date you selected
  7. You can then select a summary of that day, week or month and the summary details will change as will the date at the top of the screen

How to read the graph in the Summary Report?

  1. Click on data report (9)
  2. As an example click on week or month at the top to see a graph (presuming you have data from that time)
  3. On the left hand side of the graph you will see the mileage that has been used during that period
  4. On the right hand side of the graph you will see the Fuel Consumption during the period
  5. On the bottom you will see the days that week or month
  6. If the blue and yellow lines are nearly the same it means you are consistently using the same amount of fuel with the km that you travel

How to view daily trip and summary report?

  1. Click on Trip List (10)
  2. Your screen will show a list on completed trips for the day with start and finish time, location and km’s travelled. Hint: Scroll down to ensure all information is loaded
  3. Click on an individual trip
  4. Your screen will show the rating for that trip, the total mileage, fuel consumption, average speed, driving behaviours and any alarms that went off during that trip
  5. You can click on Mileage, fuel consumption, average speed, driver behaviour and alarms to see more detailed data
  6. In the top right hand corner of the screen you can click on a map of the trip

How to view previous trips from a day, a week or month?

  1. Click on Trip List (10)
  2. In the top right hand corner of the screen click the date icon
  3. Your screen will show the current date in a red circle
  4. You can select a date in that month or you can swipe to the left to a previous month. At the top you will see the month date change as you swipe across the screen
  5. Then select the date that you want to view
  6. Your screen will then show trips from the date you selected. You can then select a trip that you want and detailed data on that trip

  5. Click on driver behaviours to see more detailed data

How to view trip map?

  1. Click on Trip List (10)

  5. you can play the route and slow it down or make it faster.

How to use vehicle error code faults (DTC)?

  1. Click Error codes (11)
  2. Select “Query”
  3. If a code fault is found it will be shown on the screen with information on the fault code.
  4. If the fault is not serious it can be cleaned b selecting “Clean” in the top right hand corner of the screen
  5. This information can also be given to your mechanic for further analysis

What do the Driving Behaviours mean?

Sudden Acceleration – When you put your foot too hard on the accelerator. The level of sensitivity can be changed on the AmberOBD app.
Emergency Braking – When you put your foot on the brake extremely hard. A possible crash.
Sharp Lane Change – When you move too quickly from one lane to another
Sharp Turn – When you turn a corner too fast
Hard Braking – When you put your foot on the brake too hard. The level of sensitivity can be changed on the AmberOBD app.
Over speed – When you are driving over the speed limit (currently set at 120km/h)
Long Time Idling – When your vehicle is stationary with the engine running (currently set at 15 minutes)

What do the Alarms mean?

Vibration Alarm – This is the vibration felt by the vehicle. It can be as simple as the garage door going up or down. The level of vibration can be changed on the AmberOBD app
Plug Alarm – When the device is plugged or unplugged from the vehicle OBD
Tow Alarm – When the vehicle is towed away
Fatigue Driver Alarm – When the car is running for too long without a break. (currently set at 3 hours)
Low Battery Alarm – When your car battery is low
GPS Error Alarm – When your GPS is not working. The error is device and not the fault of the sim card or the network
Coolant too high Alarm – When your coolant temperature is potentially overheating. All vehicles are different and some vehicles run at a higher coolant temperature
